Learning and Improvement
As part of its Learning and Development Strategy, the CESCP provides a series of multi-agency safeguarding learning and development opportunities including core and specialised courses, briefing sessions, e-learning and conferences to build on the experience, knowledge and skills that staff require for working with children and families.
Individuals should identify their training needs and which courses are appropriate for them through supervision and discussions with their manager or organisation's safeguarding representatives, based upon their job roles and contact with children and young people.
All training and development supported by Cheshire East CESCP is underpinned by current national and local research, policy and guidance into safeguarding and also adult learning theories.
What is Safeguarding training?
Safeguarding learning and development opportunities may present themselves in many different ways. The CESCP recognises a variety of methods to deliver current safeguarding updates and information, the documents below give managers and practitioners guidance regarding safeguarding training and a reflective learning template to help evidence impact from training attendance or other exercise.
